The purpose of this class is to help knitters understand the construction and
characteristics of yarns, and how they affect the selection and execution of a sweater pattern. Students will be able to use this knowledge to substitute yarn in sweater patterns and to understand why and how yarn selection impacts the FO.

Students: Advanced beginning to intermediate; helpful (but not necessary) to have some
prior experience with sweater knitting.

Homework: None (optional: bring in a sweater pattern you’d like to knit and have
questions about yarn selection/substitution).

Sweater and swatch samples to be provided as visual aids.
