It’s now officially summer. The summer solstice came and went, but it did not disappoint as it made its exit Monday evening. The sun put on an amazing show as it was setting, and left me excited for more beautiful evenings, filled with warm weather and fiery cotton candy shows in the sky.
Now that summer is here, I hope everyone is prepping their needles with new and intriguing yarn. Twig is swaying in the breeze, calling for me to knit something pretty. I’ve yet to knit with linen yarn that’s combined with other fibers, and Twig has three fibers that I can’t get enough of – linen, silk, and wool. I started a list of patterns/kits that I’m currently trying to choose from for my first Twig project. I’m having a hard time deciding, and might end up casting on more than one.
Simple Tee: A lightweight top with options. The Simple Tee can be knit to the hip for a true T-shirt look, or for a more modern look it can be made longer, with side vents. It also has the option of short or long sleeves.
Flagstone Wrap: A modern wrap with color block panels knit in a simple garter stitch.
Jessie's Girl Cardigan : A drapey cardigan knit seamlessly in a loose stitch pattern. This will be perfect to throw over a tank during the warmer months.
Mix No. 4 in Twig: Any easy pattern to memorize, with chic results. Mix No. 4 is a wrap in a ribbed pattern with a simple and elegant look.
