Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) is not only the exquisitely soft yarn from Woolfolk, but it’s also the Danish concept that loosely translates to coziness. Being that it’s the holidays and winter officially started this week, I thought hygge would be a great idea to explore.

After watching a short video describing hygge on the Visit Denmark website, I learned two things:
- I need to visit Denmark.
- Hygge can mean anything from sitting in your favorite chair and sipping on a cup of tea to a candlelit meal with friends.
For me hygge this winter will be curling up on the couch with a blanket and my knitting, spending time with my family as we sit around a warm fire talking about whatever topics pop in our heads, staying up late reading books in my favorite chair with a cup of cocoa nearby, surrounding myself with the laughter of my friends, and getting in good quality me time.
I am convinced that the more hygge I introduce in my life the brighter, warmer, and cozier my winter will be and I hope you will all join me in having the coziest winter ever.
