For knitters, autumn is often the most exciting time of the year. The slight chill in the air gives our fingers the itch for warm woolen knits, and there are always abundant new patterns to add to the queue during the change in seasons. This year, our excitement for fall has increased tenfold thanks to a special new line of patterns from one of our favorite design houses.
The Brooklyn Tweed fall collection, Wool People, has had us swooning over the patterns within since founder and head designer Jared Flood first announced them on his website earlier this summer. Now, it's our pleasure to introduce the collection to you, in the form of 15 exquisite full-color printed patterns available at Knit Purl.
We've always been huge fans of Brooklyn Tweed designs, but this time, they've done things a little differently. For Wool People, Flood has taken on a new role: instead of designing the patterns himself, he acted as curator of 15 new patterns by some of his personal favorite designers from all over the world.
From new up-and-comers to proven masters of the knitting realm, these designers have all worked their own form of magic on Brooklyn Tweed's flagship yarn, SHELTER, for Wool People. Flood provided the yarn and personally collaborated with each of the designers to create a gorgeous fall fashion line that is more than the sum of its parts.
Pullovers, cardigans, hats, mitts, and more: all the things knitters love to curl up with in the chilly autumn months are here, photographed beautifully in Flood's skillful signature style. From beginner-friendly patterns with simple stitches to lushly cabled and lace designs for the more advanced knitter, we think any knitter will be thrilled to ring in the fall season with Wool People.
We're enchanted with the way that these fifteen designing minds have come together with such unique creations that somehow form a perfectly cohesive collection. The individual designers have tapped into the minds of knitters, capturing exactly what we truly want to knit and wear. And with the beloved Brooklyn Tweed name and aesthetic behind it, Wool People is destined to become a new favorite collection.
We invite you to admire all fifteen patterns, as well as our complete line of Brooklyn Tweed SHELTER, the yarn that inspired all of these luscious autumnal designs. If you're not one already, we think Wool People might just inspire you to become a wool person too!

Take Shelter
DON'T FORGET THE YARN
Just in time for this bounty of new patterns, we recently fully replenished our stock of Brooklyn Tweed SHELTER yarn, giving you the ultimate selection for your Wool People favorites. From Targhee-Columbia fleeces raised in Wyoming, to a historic New Hampshire mill, and finally to a design studio in Brooklyn, New York, this all-American wool gives us knitterly pride in the spirit of our country. In 17 heathered hues, SHELTER's lofty woolen character makes it the perfect match for all of the Wool People patterns.
