| An Embarrassment Of Riches | | UNEXPECTED AND APPRECIATED | Imagine our consternation last Friday when two enormous boxes arrived from Madelinetosh containing, of all things, 33 colors and over 180 skeins of a new yarn, Tosh Lace!
Apparently there was a mix-up at the Madelinetosh dyeing HQ and they sent us the collection by accident. Once they confirmed we could keep the treasure trove, we set to work expanding our lace wall.
100% superwash Merino, Tosh Lace is the most practical lace yarn we've seen. In addition to protecting the yarn from felting, the superwash treatment causes wool to absorb dye like a sponge, giving it a depth of color not often seen in lace yarns. And, of course, because it's from Madelinetosh, it's been hand-dyed in an array of enticing colors that will satisfy any craving.
Ideal for a wide variety of projects, ranging from Hannah Fettig's Featherweight Cardigan to Miriam Felton's Icarus, Tosh Lace is available in both variegates and semi-solids that can and will do anything you want. Moreover, with 950 yards per skein, even the largest Shetland lace shawl won't take more than two or three skeins. But, as serendipity is unpredictable and Madelinetosh has a 3 month wait list, you might want to get enough for a project now before all 180+ skeins disappear!
| Gilt-less Indulgences | | HIGH FIBER TREATS | The Buffalo Gold trunk show has arrived, and with it a staggering wealth of inspiration. For the next two weeks, we will play host to a collection of luscious buffalo down garments and yarns. On display around the store, Buffalo Gold has generously included several patterns that come free with the purchase of yarn.

Unisex Scarf
Knit with a single skein of Buffalo Gold Heaven, this simple scarf is mainly Moss stitch, making it masculine without being boring. The addition of an optional crocheted edge can give it a slight feminine flair. The designer, Elizabeth Lang, has also included instructions for adapting the size of the finished scarf.

End-to-End Collection
Designed by Myrna Stahman, author of Stahman's Shawls and Scarves, these three lacy scarves each use a single skein of Buffalo Gold Lux. Included with the patterns are five pages of tip and tricks for creating your own beautiful lace scarf.

Pillared Archways
Striking columns of knotted stitches transform into delicate archways in this beautiful lace scarf. Knit with a single skein of Buffalo Gold Heaven, this pattern is a great intermediate project for knitters looking to expand their skills.

Ethereal Fichu
The clever construction of this gossamer-like shawl uses limited yardage to the fullest. Worked from the bottom point up, the pattern includes directions for two silhouettes. Knit with two skeins of Buffalo Gold Lux, this makes the most out of a luscious exotic yarn.

| Vintage Vogue | | GIVE THE PAST A CHANCE | In anticipation of the Fall, Shibui Knits has released eight new colors in their luxury fingering yarn, Staccato.
Evocative of days gone by with names like 'Silk Stocking', these retro-inspired shades are ideal for richly-hued autumn knits.
A seductive blend of superwash Merino and silk, Staccato will make you rethink your collection of handknit socks. And, with all-new colors for Him like 'Suit' and 'Artichoke', these new skeins makes delicious socks, gloves, mittens and colorwork treats.
Perfect for any number of projects, Staccato can be machine washed on 'delicate', giving knitters more flexibility. And whether you were there or simple enjoy looking back, we think you'll enjoy these new colors and maybe even take a sentimental journey of your own!
| Take It Higher | | QUALITY SHETLAND YARN | A long-standing staff favorite, Hoejlandsgarn (literally 'Highland yarn') offers knitters a glimpse into the past. 100% pure Shetland wool, bred and milled in Scotland, this is yarn from the Highlands in the truest sense.
A lofty lace weight, Hoejlandsgarn could also knit up as a light fingering weight in colorwork. Perfect for authentic pieces of Shetland lace or for traditional stranded colorwork, we have an affinity for this yarn that just grew stronger.
Original available in a dozen colors inspired by the Highlands, Isager has expanded the line to include eight new shades. Now with twenty colors to choose from, Hoejlandsgarn is even more suited to colorwork than before.
Still on sale as part of our Month of Lace, we hope you will try this amazing yarn and discover its own rustic beauty for yourself.
