| Glam It Up | | GLITZ FOR FALL | Sometimes you need a little sparkle. Other times, you need a lot. Lucky for us, Tilli Tomas has just released a dazzling new yarn that will illuminate even the dullest winter day.
Introducing Symphony, a lace weight mohair-blend yarn that shimmers with not only silver-lined beads but metallic threads, as well. A combination of fine kid mohair and lustrous silk fibers makes the yarn absorb dye like a sponge, giving each skein gem-like luminosity.
The addition of glass beads to the mix only reinforces the impression that Symphony would not be out of place in a jewelry store. Wound in generous 100g skeins, with over 345 yards of glimmering beauty per hank, this illustrious new line is ideal for breath-taking one skein projects.
Glitzy enough for even the most vivacious princess, this rich new yarn will add some flair to your day without breaking the bank.

| Power-ful Patterns | | CLEVER FALL ACCESSORIES | Designer Pam Powers is an accessorizing genius. Her best-selling Ruffled & Ruched and Challah Infinity scarves have been made by knitters the world over. The latest addition to her collection of quick, chic knits are seven new Fall patterns that we predict will be just as popular.
If you had told us that you wanted to make a "welly warmer" a month ago, we might have looked at you askance. But now with the release of Pam's fun and funky rubber boot liners (i.e. "welly warmers"), we've been converted. A collection of coordinating ascots completes the English gentry look, all while keeping one warm and dry in style.
We couldn't resist stocking all seven of her new patterns, especially with Fall and Winter approaching. If you're looking forward to a wet, cold Winter (like us), you might want to cast on one of these snappy accessories now - and be prepared when the temperature drops and the rain falls!
Mini Welly Warmers
What child doesn't enjoy stomping in puddles and playing in the rain? Unfortunately for parents everywhere, this affection for getting wet is a nightmare during flu season. Well, no longer! Mother, knitter, and designer Pam Powers has written a pattern for four different children's "welly warmers", ensuring that children of knitters will have warm and dry feet this winter.

| From Salad to Sweater | | EDIBLE, DELECTABLE, AND KNITTABLE | Turning food into yarn seems to be the new Big Thing among yarn companies. After accepting soy, corn, milk, and sugar as yarn, Habu Textiles has expanded the knitter's plate to include Fiddlehead Fern.
That's right, the crisp and juicy addition to salads has been converted into a lace yarn for your knitting pleasure. A central 100% silk core catches little tufts of fiber taken from the head of a Fiddlehead Fern, creating a nubby single-ply yarn.
Harvested once a year in Japan, each Fiddlehead Fern produces less than a handful of fiber, making this curious yarn something of a rarity. Available only in the natural cream and brown, Fiddlehead Cotton Silk (AK-20-1) is available in extremely limited quantities. Ideal for combining with other yarns, each cone comes with 700 yards of cobweb weight yarn to mix and match.
A quirky addition to the Habu Textiles family, this cottony yarn is something Habu enthusiasts should definitely try at least once.
| True Plies: Man vs. Machine | | CARING FOR YOUR HANDKNITS | We hear the question all the time and, in all honesty, don't always have an answer - what do those symbols on yarn labels stand for? While we know that they are washing and care instructions, some of them are so esoteric (especially on imported yarns), that we frequently have to Google them.
After some research, we've discovered a very handy website, Label Talk, a comprehensive source for both textile and apparel consumers and developers. They even offer several pdf downloads, including a Laundry Guide to Common Care Symbols as well as a much more extensive Guide to Common Home Laundering & Drycleaning Symbols that specifies water temperature and drying instructions.
If you've ever spent any amount of time staring at a ball band in utter confusion, you might want to check out this fantastic resource. We're certainly glad we did!
